PARIS EXCURSION 2017!

The School Excursion to Paris

Paris has been fulfilling dreams since, well forever. So we imagined the most delicious five dream days ever and invite you to come with us, fait accompli! Sure, anyone can go to Paris but this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that can never really be repeated.  We have curated the ultimate experiences, that in some cases not even money can buy, and we want fellow travellers to take this maiden voyage with us. Select the excursion itself (travel to Paris is not included, as we figured how you get there is best being your business and you might be coming from Timbuktoo, Toorak or Thailand) or add on the accommodation option so we can all stay together. (We have a super competitive rate at a darling hotel to encourage this). The fleas, picnic lunches in designers' studios, entry into Maison et Objet Trade Fair, French lessons with our language expert, vintage clothes lesson, fragrance testings, a blow-out, an oil class mixing workshop in France's oldest art supply store. And that is not even all of it!

Oh and did we mention we have planned it to happen deliciously during Paris Design Week? Or that we drop you into Masion et Objet with your Megan Morton lanyard on your last day? From the best blow-outs, to oil mixing class and how-to-buy-vintage fashion lessons, it's all le squeal!

DAY 1: SEPT 4

Les hauts et les bas - High and Low.
We dedicate our first day worshipping at the altar of the retail heavyweights and the chance to chat to the chicest dealers in town!

Breakfast with Marie Helene, our fave French Australian linguistics expert, who will teach us conversational French over boiled eggs and coffee at Merci!
Breakfast with this local language legend, plus retail superpower Merci with a side visit to the black and white photo booth for old school pics at Bon Ton!

A wander around Marché Vernaison and a late picnic lunch in local store Tombées du Camion.

Dinner with legendary trends' reporter Philip Fimmao, from Li Edelkoort's Bloom and Trends Tablet, plus our own private trend presentation by Philip to the group.

DAY 2: SEPT 5

Un jour de GAH

Dedicated to meeting leaders of three very different but equally iconic French studios; Megan Morton’s all time favourite designers Tsé Tsé, and candle icon Cire Trudon
and Sennelier art store.

The inner studio of design duo Tsé Tsé isn’t open to the public, so we will have a picnic lunch with the founders and discuss their practice. Followed by a walk through with founder of Cire Trudon – meet the director of this unequivocally French brand. Bring your paperbag, it is going to be so swoony!

We then meet the family* behind Sennelier, Paris’ oldest art supply store. We literally can’t wait for this. We will mix oils + learn precious lessons from Mr Sennelier himself*.

DAY 3: SEPT 6

R+R & D+D

‘D+D’: decadence and divinity. Then some ‘R+R’ rest and recreation in the most hedonistic of itineraries.

A morning visit to renowned local market Marche d'Aligre.

The afternoon is spent at David Mallett salon having the best blow dries in town, with a side trip to Deyrolle.

Evening: Our table is booked at Au Sauvage with pre dinner at legendary gallery salon Galerie Prodromes, where incredible art is explicable to the domestic setting.

DAY 4: SEPT 7

Monument Day! Liste Bucket tic-tac

Liste Bucket tic-tac Monument Day!

We start with THE best coffee at Boot Cafe and then a private morning tour at the incredible Picasso Museum. Textiles, sculpture, painting, etchings and other goose bumpingly goodness from The Master.

Then you can use this day to work, rest or play. Pick your own pleasure, go back for more or wander Palais Royal ‘til we reconnect at night for supper.

DAY 5: SEP 8

Maison et Objet

We can leave you here for the entire 5 days (there is a special Interior Designer seminar session and Interior Planning seminar this year) or you can spend just Friday
under its mega-powers.

This is where we leave you to explore + discover and go your own styling way at the mothership that is
the style capital of the world, Paris.

Your Maison & Objet pass gives you entry for the entirety of the fair.

INCLUSIONS
