ALANA WILSON CERAMICS - SYDNEY
Alana Wilson is a ceramicist like no other.
This summer, The School will collaborate with local Sydney based ceramicist Alana Wilson on a 1-off 2-part ceramics class.
Alana creates the most breathtaking pieces, ceramics that look as though they have surfaced from the underworlds of ancient civilisations. She makes ceramics that embody sculpture, as well as some that are functional.
Alana’s glazes are other-wordly and although her techniques are inspired and innovative, they are teachable and in this class you will have an exclusive opportunity to share in her practice.
This class is the highlight and sunbeam source of our Summer Series, with Alana's expertise spread over 2 weeks. The first week will see you designing and hand building your vessel or sculpture at our studio, and the second class takes place in her cliff top Tamarama studio with her magic kiln, and a glass of Prosecco to toast your hand-made vessels as the sun sets on another Sydney summer's day.
"I'm really looking forward to working together in my studio on Tamarama point, chatting around the kiln whilst practising what I love most" Alana Wilson.
Note: The class will focus on hand building vessels or sculptures, there's no throwing.
