If India has daunted you, consider this your gentlest swimin; immerse yourself in five exquisite in-house classes that include jewellery setting, photography, perfume making and a daily yoga class, and a private Ayurvedic massage treatment at the ridiculously beautiful Jobner Bagh, blss with an upper case B. You can go to India one hundred times but this misson is possbily-life changing. A week of recharge, rest, and total revitalization that only India can deliver with in-house classes every morning, exquisite dinners and not-to-be-replicated experiences to this sacred place. Palaces, ponies, elephants, emeralds, chai and dreams! Jaipur provides the colour, pomp and pageantry and we have curated the 5 best days you could possibly experience in this incredible city of Rajasthan.
Day 1: 26 October
We dedicate today to the softest of landings in India. Offer today to our private lunch time yoga class and maybe even one of your in house massage treatments starts today? In anyways the gardens, the roof top and the rooms at Jobner Bagh will let you sleep, read or plan your Jaipur bucket lists with aplomb. Unofficial dip-your-toes-in-the-water-shopping in the afternoon with a very special first night dinner.
Day 2: 27 OctoberJEWELS, GEMS AND DREAMS
Today is dedicated to gemstones and making a talisman of our trip. We start at the iconic Gem Palace and end at genuine traders’ markets then back to our own in-house design studio where we will learn to set our own stones in a pendant or bracelet. Unforgettable evening drinks and dinner at the draw-dropping Sujan Rajmahal Palace (with a reccie around Lady Di’s fave room) poolside in this private paradise. Hollywood meets old India at this hotel and it will render you speechless.
Day 3: 28 October
PRINT + PATTERN
We start, after yoga, with a lesson in pattern and print, at the iconic Bar Palladio. Marie–Anne Oudejans is the Dutch designer responsible for bringing owner Barbara Miolini’s Italian brief to boiling point. Her incredible taste and aesthetic is world-renowned and her work, when experienced in the flesh, will leave you giddy. Bar Palladio has no visual peer, and its hedonistic atmosphere will have every colour and pattern lover salivating. The day concludes with cocktails at Narain Niwas, showing more of Marie–Anne’s incredible work at the chicest cocktail bar in India. Your eyes will need a detox after today, it’s beyond swoony and the stuff dreams are made of - pass the smelling salts, day 3 is faint-worthy stuff.
Day 4: 29 OctoberBLISS, BLISS, BLISS!
SOURCING, SOURCING, SOURCING!
After yoga, take our blissed bodies to the 3 best textile, silver and jewellery markets so you can survey the shopping scene. Late afternoon is spent on a private tour of the Pink Palace followed by a you-won’t-believe-your-eyes dinner in the private rooms of the Palace. Yes, it’s true. The King of Jaipur’s restaurant has a private booking for us, and the moonlight walk through the Peacock gates, with zero crowds this is something else altogether. You won’t be able to speak. No point trying, this is India and we are guests of the King, and there is nothing anyone can do about this incredibleness.
Day 5: 30 OctoberPHOTOGRAPHY
We meet the legendary photographer Mr Tikam Chand and his 150 year-old magnificent Zeiss camera. Take a lesson in old school photography from this master, with incredible results. His camera holds cherished historical value, and we will learn to shoot and process with his methods passed down to him from his father’s father. Tiffins are packed with lunch for a day of photographing sites, like the Monkey Temple and the famous Fort, with our own camera.

*flights - No airlines fly direct from Australia to Jaipur, but these international carriers fly to Jaipur: Etihad Airways, Thai Airways, Scoot, and Air India. On our research the most direct route is Australia > Singapore > Jaipur (with Scoot)
