Spend a glorious day making a sculptural piece from foraged materials with Catriona Pollard.

THE CLASS

In a world of digital and tech overload, the winding, the twining, the bending and the tenderness of working alongside nature is a treat in itself. Having fibre artist Catriona Pollard guide you and inspire you makes for a dream day. We consider this creative therapy and we know your hands, your hearts and your walls will be all be richer for this day.

 YOU WILL LEARN:

In this sculptural basketry class, you will learn the ancient basketry technique of twining using various plant and cord materials.

This class is all about exploration and play, not perfection. You will learn how to connect with nature, your stories and your creativity. You will leave with your very own twined sculptural basket.

“It takes a talented artist to see the true beauty in inanimate objects and visualise how she would use these in a creative form. Her work binds immense femininity, sensitivity, and strength. With every piece there is a story to be told. Catriona depicts friends, family, and places. What really amazes me is her great sensitivity with the use of materials and the effortless combination of them. Producing often tightness in contrast with fluid form.” Jason Woodland, Fanuli
