BEGINNER'S + ADVANCED SHIBORI double class bundle – SYDNEY 2 - 3 DECEMBER 2017
$490 Double class bundle (SAVING OF $110) FOR A SEAT AT BOTH CLASSES with Joanna Fowles.
Experiences over things?!
This year already feels like the one to be more conscientious around wasteful gifting and consumables. So we wanted to take a moment to plant the seed about the gift of experience! Namely our Shibori classes in December! Team build, be a birthday present gifting hero or treat yourself to an experience, over a thing and enjoy the restorative journey and divine outcomes of these classes.
A weekend long experience. Use your Saturday to skill up and the Sunday to apply your skills with the master Joanna.
Expertly guided by Joanna Fowles - textile designer, researcher, artist and textiles teacher at UTS as well as other highly impressive creative pursuits, she has been in the design industry for over fifteen years and knows how to get you hooked on shibori.
Shibori is in one word, stunning. Using beautiful silk scarves and this ancient Japanese dyeing method we will create your own scarf that defies beauty. Japanese dyeing is perfect for the inexperienced and we will cover various tying, clamping and resist-dye Shibori techniques. Choose your own technique to make your own unique hand-dyed scarf.
This is the day to go beyond your sampler and really explore your hobby. Joanna is a UTS textile and Shibori teacher, and its wondrous process and outcomes are her favourite thing.
Note: Feel free to bring your own things in (bedding, scarves, pj's, jeans or pillowslips) to add to the vat. People get 'shibori fever' and usually can't stop!
