INDIAN TEXTILES TOUR 21 - 28 October 2019
EIGHT DAYS OF TEXTILE IMMERSION IN INDIA
8 days Ahmedabad and Bhuj.
Words will be useless so we will just go ahead and say it...If you are into textiles, the artisans that produce them and the century old techniques used in their creation, you need to consider being one of six on this extremely special immersion trip.
This wonderful tour will immerse us in the non-5 star path of incredible Indian artisan communities. We will travel to textile and architectural rich Ahmedabad steeped in cultural history and go deep into the traditional craft heart of Bhuj, visiting and creating with local artisans, learning on the ground, listening to the most skilled of craftsmen and women. Make no mistake, this is not a normal Excursion, this is an in-depth get down and dirty ride of your life!
Come prepared to work, to make, learn and create. We will learn how to make wooden printing blocks, look at brass casting, print using the ajrakh process, make bandhani and see the most incredible things that are directly translated from the beginnings of civilisation If this sounds like Mecca to you, don’t hesitate as we can only take five with us.
